Solventum 3M Steri-Strip Reinforced Adhesive Skin Closures 1.2 x 10cm 6 Pack R1547 These sterile, reinforced adhesive strips are used by medical professionals to close lacerations and surgical incisions. They can also provide wound support alongside sutures or staples, or after their removal.

Product Features and MaterialsEach strip is made from porous nonwoven rayon reinforced with polymer filaments. The strips are sterile, and natural rubber latex is not present in the strips or their packaging.
How to Use
  • Clean and dry the skin, and remove excess hair. If desired, apply a thin layer of 3M Steri-Strip Compound Benzoin Tincture to improve adhesion.
  • Bring the skin edges together using fingers or forceps. Apply each strip without tension using gentle, firm pressure, then smooth it from the centre outwards.
  • Space the strips approximately 3mm apart.
  • Additional strips may be applied parallel to the wound, approximately 12mm from the closure ends, to improve adhesion.
  • To remove, peel the strip slowly towards the centre of the incision while supporting the skin.
Caution & Storage
  • Do not use where adhesion may be affected by exudate, skin oils, moisture or hair.
  • Do not use on infected wounds, high-tension wounds that cannot be easily approximated, or to secure tubing.
  • Do not reuse strips. Dispose of unused strips to help reduce infection risk.
  • Skin irritation or injury may occur during wear or removal.
  • Applying the strips under tension, postoperative oedema, or body or joint movement may cause skin injury, blistering or loss of adhesion.
  • Use with adhesive adjuncts may cause blistering or skin injury.
  • Do not use if the package is damaged or open, or if the expiry date is missing, illegible or passed.
  • Store at room temperature and avoid heat and humidity.
