Solventum 3M Scotchcast Quick Step Splint Pre-Cut 7.6 x 30.5cm 75312 It is a pre-cut splint for constructing common orthopaedic and trauma splints.

Key Benefits

  • Helps avoid incorrect side placement: breathable felt on both sides provides padding and removes the need to identify a patient-facing side.
  • Conforms around body contours: the 7-layer fibreglass interior can be shaped around bends and curves.
  • Supports imaging during immobilisation: the finished splint is radiolucent, allowing standard X-rays to be taken through it.
  • Helps keep skin dry: water-repellent technology sheds water from the splint to reduce the risk of skin maceration.
Product Features and Materials Multiple layers of knitted fibreglass fabric impregnated with water-activated polyurethane resin. Air and moisture permeable felt covers both sides as padding. Exposure to water or moisture initiates curing, producing a lightweight, strong and durable rigid splint.
Caution & Storage
  • For single use only. Reuse may compromise product integrity or cause device failure.
  • Wear protective gloves during application and avoid contact between uncured resin and unprotected skin. If resin contacts skin, wash with plenty of soap and water. Seek medical advice if skin irritation or rash develops.
  • Apply in a ventilated room.
  • Use clean water at room temperature, 21-24°C. Warmer water may cause higher temperatures during curing and unwanted effects.
  • Keep the applied splint dry. If it becomes wet, dry the splint and padding thoroughly.
  • Store at ambient temperature. Allow product stored at higher or lower temperatures to return to ambient temperature before use. Do not use material that feels hard.
  • Avoid puncturing the sealed packaging, as moisture exposure can cause premature hardening.
