Solventum 3M Coban Tan Self-Adherent Wrap 15cm x 4.5m 1586 is a self-adherent elastic bandage for compression, support and securing dressings or medical devices. It adheres to itself rather than skin or hair, so no pins, clips or adhesive tape are needed.

Key Benefits

  • Secures dressings and devices without sticking to skin, hair or clothing.
  • Provides mild compression and support for strains and sprains.
  • Stays in place with minimal lifting at the ends, helping reduce the need for readjustment.
  • Can be adjusted during application to achieve the desired compression.
  • Lightweight, breathable material supports comfort during wear.
Product Features and Materials

One tan bandage, 15cm wide and 4.5m long when stretched. Its two-layer construction uses nonwoven material and elastic fibres and contains natural rubber latex. Non-sterile.

Clinical applications include blood draws, securing lightweight dressings, immobilisation and secondary securement on difficult-to-dress areas such as the head, fingers and toes.

How to Use
  • Before application, unwind about 30cm from the roll and allow the bandage to relax.
  • Wrap once without stretching the bandage, leaving an overlap. Apply light pressure to the overlap to hold the starting end in place.
  • Continue wrapping with only the tension needed for the desired compression. Unwind more bandage before each turn so it is not applied under excessive tension.
  • Trim the excess with scissors and gently press the finishing end onto the wrapped bandage.
  • When used on the leg as part of a venous leg ulcer management programme, wear time can be up to 7 days. Use within a compression wrap system requires supervision by a wound care specialist.
Who It's For

For people needing support for strains or sprains, or non-adhesive securement of dressings and devices, including those with fragile or at-risk skin.

Caution & Storage
  • Do not apply too tightly. The bandage will not slip or loosen after application, and excessive tension can restrict circulation and cause serious injury. Children are at greater risk of impaired circulation.
  • Check the wrapped area frequently, at least every 24 hours, for swelling, discolouration, pain, numbness, tingling or other changes in sensation. If any occur, remove the bandage immediately and contact a healthcare provider.
  • Keep the bandage out of direct contact with open wounds because this may lead to infection.
  • Contains natural rubber latex, which may cause an allergic reaction. Do not use if you have a natural rubber latex allergy.
  • Use as part of a compression wrap system only under a wound care specialist's supervision. Adequate arterial blood flow must be ensured, as reduced circulation can cause injury.
  • Do not reuse. Reuse may damage the bandage's integrity or cause it to fail.
  • Store at room temperature and protect from excessive heat and humidity. Keep in its individual packaging until use.
  • Do not use after the expiry date printed on the individual packaging.
  • Report any serious incident related to the wrap to 3M and the local regulatory authority.
