What  is Solal Acetyl L-Carnitine used for:

Enhances cognitive ability and promoting brain health.

A superior form of carnitine. It catalyses the conversion of energy sources into usable energy, essential to keep cells alive. ALC is particularly important for energising and protecting the heart and brain. ALC is useful for helping to prevent age-related memory decline. ALC may also enhance athletic performance and prevent fatigue states by facilitating energy supply.

Pharmacological Action:

Acetyl-L-Carnitine is an amino acid (a building block for proteins) that is naturally produced in the body. It helps the body produce energy. It is important for heart and brain function, muscle movement, and many other physiological processes.

How to use Solal Acetyl L-Carnitine Capsules:

  • Adults: 1 – 2 capsules twice daily.
  • Children under 12 years: 1 capsule 1 – 2 times daily.
  • Take at least 30 minutes before meals, on an empty stomach.
Product Warnings:

Do not use this product if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients. If you are on any medication or suffering from any medical condition, it is advisable to seek medical advice before starting any new medicine, supplement or remedy. Do not exceed recommended dosages unless on the advice of a healthcare practitioner. This medicine has not been evaluated by the Medicines Control Council. Side Effects:
Acetyl-L-Carnitine is generally well tolerated. It may cause nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal upset and agitation.

Contraindications:
Hypothyroidism: Avoid using Acetyl-L-Carnitine in individuals with hypothyroidism. L-Carnitine seems to inhibit the activity of the thyroid hormone in the target tissues. Theoretically, this might occur with Acetyl-L-Carnitine.
Seizures: An increase in seizure frequency or severity has been reported in people with a history of seizures who have used L-Carnitine orally or intravenously. Theoretically, this might occur with Acetyl-L-Carnitine.

Interactions:
Acenocoumarol: Taking L-Carnitine 1 g/day seems to significantly increase the anticoagulant effects of acenocoumarol. This reaction has only been recorded with L-Carnitine, but theoretically could occur with Acetyl-L-Carnitine.
Warfarin: Use cautiously with warfarin as Acetyl-L-Carnitine may increase the anticoagulant effect of warfarin.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
Safety during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding has not yet been established.
