1. Wash hands thoroughly and open the sterile packaging without contaminating the catheter.
2. Position comfortably and expose the urethral meatus; clean the area with a sterile wipe as instructed by your clinician.
3. Apply a sterile, water‑based lubricant to the catheter tip if the product is not pre‑lubricated.
4. Gently insert the Nelaton catheter into the urethra until urine flows; advance a little further to ensure correct placement.
5. Allow urine to drain fully into a suitable container. When empty, slowly withdraw the catheter and dispose of it as clinical waste.
6. Seek medical help if you experience significant pain, resistance, bleeding or cannot pass the catheter.

Intended for adult female patients requiring intermittent urethral catheterisation, including those with urinary retention, postoperative bladder management, neurogenic bladder or when short‑term bladder drainage is clinically indicated. Suitable for self‑catheterisation only after proper training by a healthcare professional. Not recommended for paediatric use without specialist guidance.
