Ingredients and Materials
ProtoDerm Island Dressing consists of a sterile, non-woven absorbent pad centrally located on an adhesive border made from medical-grade, hypoallergenic adhesive and a breathable backing film. Materials are selected to be low-adherent to the wound surface and skin-friendly. Contains no latex. How to Use
- Wash and dry hands thoroughly before handling the dressing.
- Clean the wound or IV site with an appropriate antiseptic and allow to dry.
- Open the sterile packaging and remove the release liner without touching the absorbent pad.
- Centre the absorbent pad over the wound or insertion site and press the adhesive border firmly onto intact surrounding skin, smoothing edges to secure a seal.
- Change the dressing when saturated, loose, or according to clinical guidance. Do not re-use.
- If signs of infection (increasing redness, swelling, pain or discharge) occur, seek medical advice and change dressing under supervision.
Who It’s For
Suitable for adults and children (use clinical judgment for infants). Ideal for protection of IV and catheter sites, minor cuts and abrasions, donor sites, post-operative wounds with low-to-moderate exudate, and fragile skin requiring gentle adhesion. Not intended for heavy-exuding or critically infected wounds without medical supervision.
Caution & Storage
For external use only. Do not apply to deep, third-degree burns, heavily bleeding wounds, or infected wounds unless directed by a clinician. Discontinue use and seek medical advice if allergic reaction, increased pain, redness or swelling occurs. Single-use sterile product — do not re-sterilise or reuse. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Check expiry date before use and keep out of reach of children.
