Mepilex® Absorbent Foam Dressing – Safetac® 10×10 cm (Sterile, 1 Unit)
Mepilex is a conformable, sterile foam dressing featuring Safetac® silicone contact layer. Designed to absorb exudate efficiently while gently sealing wound margins, it supports moist healing and reduces trauma during dressing changes—ideal for fragile and chronic wounds.
- Safetac® silicone layer minimizes pain and tissue trauma during dressing removal
- Seals wound edges to prevent exudate leakage and maceration
- Highly conformable—it can be cut to fit and used under compression immediately
- Effective absorbency for low-to-medium exuding wounds, reducing the need for frequent changes
- Transparent, breathable backing film protects the wound from contaminants while allowing moisture vapor transmission
Materials & Features
- Layers include a soft polyurethane foam pad with superabsorbent fibres and a Safetac® silicone wound contact layer
- Waterproof but breathable backing film; latex-free and single-use sterile dressing
- Size: 10 × 10 cm dressing size (~6.5 × 6.5 cm foam pad) with 2 cm margin overlap recommendation
How to Use
- Clean and dry the wound and peri‑wound skin thoroughly.
- Cut dressing to size, ensuring at least 2 cm overlap of dry skin.
- Apply Safetac® side directly to wound bed.
- Cover with suitable secondary dressing; fixation may be needed.
- Leave in place up to 7 days (or per clinical protocol), replacing only if saturated or loosened.
Who It’s For
- Clinicians managing low-to-medium exuding wounds—pressure and leg ulcers, burns, surgical or traumatic wounds
- Patients with fragile, sensitive, or radiated skin where atraumatic removal matters
- Use in compression bandaging strategies or negative pressure therapy settings
Caution & Storage
- Single-use sterile product—do not reuse or re-sterilize.
- Do not use if packaging is damaged or beyond expiry.
- Check wound regularly—signs of infection (increased odor, redness, pain) require clinical review.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
