1. Place the dressing over the wound and hold in position.
2. Start the bandage slightly below the dressing and wrap upward, overlapping each turn by about 50%.
3. Maintain even tension—avoid excessive tightness to prevent circulation impairment.
4. Secure the end with clips, tape or a suitable fastener. Check distal circulation (colour, warmth, sensation) after application.
5. Replace the bandage if it becomes wet, soiled or loses elasticity; follow clinical guidance for dressing changes.
