- 3m length supplies multiple applications per roll—cost-effective for clinics and hospitals.
- Suitable for orthopaedic technicians, emergency departments and first aid responders.
Ingredients and Materials
Material: High-quality cotton gauze impregnated with Plaster of Paris (calcium sulfate hemihydrate). Non-sterile. The bandage combines absorbent cotton backing with a consistent plaster coating to ensure uniform setting and strength. Manufactured to medical-grade standards suitable for orthopaedic casting and immobilisation.
How to Use
- Prepare: Ensure skin is clean, dry and protected with appropriate padding. Use recommended stockinette and padding to protect pressure points.
- Activate: Submerge the POP bandage in room-temperature water, then gently squeeze out excess water—do not wring aggressively.
- Apply: Wrap the damp bandage evenly around the limb, smoothing and moulding quickly to anatomical contours. Overlap layers by approximately 50% for strength.
- Working & setting time: Typical working time is short—mould and shape promptly. Initial set commonly occurs within 5–15 minutes depending on temperature; allow to harden fully before weight-bearing or heavy use.
- Finish: Trim edges as needed and allow the cast to cure. Full strength may take up to 24–48 hours; follow clinician guidance before final load-bearing or definitive dressing.
Note: Times vary with ambient temperature and water temperature. Follow clinical protocols and manufacturer instructions for best results.
