Clinihealth Paraffin Gauze 10 x 10cm 10 Pack
Clinihealth Paraffin Gauze 10 x 10cm
Clinihealth Paraffin Gauze 10 x 10cm (10 pack) is a sterile, paraffin-impregnated, non‑adherent wound contact dressing designed to protect delicate wound beds. Ideal as a primary dressing for minor burns, skin graft donor sites, sutures and fragile healing skin, this paraffin gauze reduces pain at dressing changes and helps maintain a moist healing environment.
Key Benefits
- Non‑adherent paraffin layer prevents dressing sticking and reduces pain during dressing changes.
- Sterile primary contact layer protects wounds from contamination and trauma.
- Permeable to exudate when used with an absorbent secondary dressing — supports moist wound healing.
- Suitable for burns, grafts, suture sites and other sensitive or epithelialising wounds.
- Convenient 10 x 10cm size and 10 pack format for clinics, first aid kits and home wound care.
Ingredients and Materials
Clinihealth paraffin gauze is composed of a sterile woven cotton gauze base impregnated with medical-grade white petrolatum (paraffin). The gauze is typically single-use and supplied in sterile packaging. Materials: cotton gauze + petrolatum impregnation. No active drugs; inert, non‑adherent formulation.
How to Use
- Perform hand hygiene and wear gloves.
- Cleanse the wound as clinically indicated and dry surrounding skin.
- Open sterile pack and apply paraffin gauze directly to the wound with the impregnated side facing the wound bed.
- Cover with an appropriate absorbent secondary dressing (e.g., sterile gauze or foam) and secure with tape or bandage.
- Change secondary dressing as required. Replace paraffin gauze according to wound management plan — typically at dressing changes or as directed by a clinician.
Note: For heavily exuding wounds, use additional absorbent secondary dressings. Do not use paraffin gauze as the only dressing for very high exudate wounds.
Who It’s For
Designed for healthcare professionals, first aid responders, clinics and home users caring for minor burns, donor sites, skin grafts, sutures and other superficial or epithelialising wounds. Suitable for patients who require a non‑adherent contact layer to minimise trauma and pain during dressing removal.
Caution & Storage
Caution: For external use only. Do not use if packaging is damaged or sterile seal is broken. Avoid use with strong oxidising agents. Monitor for signs of sensitivity or allergic reaction. Not recommended as the sole dressing for heavily exuding, infected or deep wounds without clinical advice.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Use before the expiry date printed on the pack.
