1. Clean and dry the skin or area to be bandaged. If securing a dressing, apply the dressing first.
2. Start wrapping from the farthest point of the limb and work toward the body, overlapping each layer by about one-third to one-half of the width for even compression.
3. Adjust tension so the bandage is snug but not tight — check circulation (colour, warmth, sensation) after application.
4. Secure the end with clips or tape. Reapply or adjust as swelling changes or per clinical guidance.
5. For repeated use, follow washing instructions and inspect for wear or loss of elasticity.
