Atrauman Ag Non-Adhesive Wound Dressing 5 x 5cm

Atrauman Ag is a sterile, non-adhesive silver-containing wound contact layer supplied as a 10 pack of 5 x 5 cm dressings. Designed to provide atraumatic contact with the wound bed while delivering broad-spectrum antimicrobial action from ionic silver, Atrauman Ag supports moist wound healing and helps reduce bioburden. Ideal for clinicians and wound-care specialists managing acute and chronic wounds, surgical sites, donor sites and burns where a low-adherent silver contact layer is required.

Key Benefits

  • Antimicrobial protection: ionic silver (Ag) reduces wound bioburden and lowers infection risk.
  • Atraumatic, non-adhesive contact layer that minimises pain and preserves fragile granulation tissue on removal.
  • Supports moist wound healing when used with an appropriate secondary absorbent dressing.
  • Sterile, single-use 5 x 5 cm size — convenient for small wounds, donor sites and surgical dressings.
  • Easy to apply and compatible with a wide range of secondary dressings and fixation methods.
  • Pack of 10 dressings for clinical convenience and cost-effective wound management.
Ingredients and Materials

Each sterile Atrauman Ag dressing is a non-adhesive wound contact layer constructed from a soft polyamide (nylon) mesh impregnated with ionic silver (Ag) to provide continuous antimicrobial action at the wound surface. The dressing is supplied sterile in single-use packaging. No self-adhesive layer is present — a secondary dressing is required for fixation and exudate management. For complete composition, regulatory information and material safety details, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for use (IFU).

How to Use
  1. Perform wound cleansing and haemostasis according to local protocol.
  2. Open sterile pack and place the Atrauman Ag contact layer with the silver-treated surface gently in contact with the wound bed.
  3. Cover with a suitable secondary absorbent dressing and secure with tape, bandage or fixation device.
  4. Change the secondary dressing and inspect the wound at intervals determined by exudate level and clinical need (often 24–72 hours or as directed by a clinician).
  5. Single-use only: do not re-sterilise or reuse. Dispose of used dressings as clinical waste.
Who It’s For

Atrauman Ag is intended for healthcare professionals and patients under clinical supervision managing acute and chronic wounds where a low-adherent antimicrobial contact layer is indicated. Typical uses include post-operative wounds, donor sites, superficial burns, leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers (as appropriate), pressure ulcers and other exuding or colonised wounds that benefit from a silver contact layer. Not recommended as a stand-alone option for heavily exuding wounds without an appropriate secondary dressing.

Caution & Storage

This is a sterile, single-use medical device. Do not use if the packaging is damaged or opened. Use under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional. Do not use in patients with known allergy to silver or dressing components. Monitor the wound for signs of hypersensitivity, irritation or infection; discontinue use and seek medical advice if adverse reactions occur. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Check the expiry date before use and follow local clinical waste disposal regulations.
