Accu-Chek Active Kit A blood glucose monitoring kit for quantitative glucose measurement and for monitoring blood glucose in diabetes mellitus. It is used with Accu-Chek Active test strips.

Key Benefits

  • Requires 1 to 2µL of blood per test, with more blood accepted if the initial sample is insufficient.
  • Provides a result in approximately 5 seconds when blood is applied to a strip in the meter.
  • Stores up to 500 results with the time and date, and calculates averages for the previous 7, 14, 30 and 90 days.
  • Allows blood application while the test strip is in the meter or after it has been removed.
  • Requires no code chip for meter coding.
How to Use
  • Wash your hands with warm water and soap, then dry them well.
  • Check the test strip use by date. Remove a strip from its container and close the original cap tightly.
  • Hold the strip with the arrows and test area facing upwards. Insert it into the meter without bending it, then wait for the flashing drop symbol.
  • For fingertip self-testing, prepare the lancing device and lance the side of a fingertip to obtain a blood drop.
  • For testing with the strip in the meter, apply the blood drop to the centre of the test area. The result appears in approximately 5 seconds.
  • For outside-meter testing, remove the strip only after the drop symbol flashes. Apply blood to the centre of the test area and reinsert the strip within 20 seconds. The result appears in approximately 8 seconds. Healthcare professionals must apply blood while the strip is outside the meter.
  • Remove the used strip after the result is displayed.

Caution & Storage
  • Use only Accu-Chek Active test strips with this meter. The system is for use outside the body and must not be used to diagnose or rule out diabetes.
  • The meter has a fixed unit of measurement. Check the unit on the type plate before use and do not use a meter with an incorrect unit. Consult a healthcare professional if you are unsure which unit is appropriate.
  • Do not change your therapy without first speaking to a healthcare professional. Contact a healthcare professional if a result is outside your agreed target range or repeatedly does not match how you feel.
  • If a result does not match how you feel, perform a control test and repeat the blood glucose test. Contact a healthcare professional if the discrepancy continues.
  • Test strips are for single use only. Used strips may transmit infection and must be discarded as infectious material according to applicable requirements.
  • Only healthcare professionals may use the same meter to test more than one patient. They must follow their institution's hygiene and safety procedures and assign a separate meter to a patient with, or suspected of having, an infection, infectious disease or multi-resistant microorganism.
  • Keep small parts and new or used batteries away from children and anyone who may swallow them. Seek medical attention immediately if a battery may have been swallowed or inserted into the body.
  • Do not use the meter if the battery compartment does not close securely.
  • Visually impaired people must not use the meter, test strips or control solutions.
  • Perform blood glucose and control tests only between 8°C and 42°C. Do not use a result obtained while the thermometer symbol is displayed as the basis for therapy decisions.
  • Store the meter with its battery between -20°C and 50°C, or without its battery between -25°C and 70°C. Store below 93% relative humidity.
  • Store test strips between 2°C and 30°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Close the original cap tightly immediately after removing a strip and use strips before their use by date.
