Accu-Chek Instant Meter is a blood glucose meter for quantitative measurement of glucose in fresh capillary whole blood when used with Accu-Chek Instant test strips. It is intended to support glucose monitoring for people with diabetes during self-testing and for healthcare professionals performing near-patient testing in clinical settings.
Key Benefits
- Shows whether a result is above, within or below the preset target range with a colour-coded target range indicator.
- Displays results on a large backlit screen for clear viewing.
- Requires a minimum blood sample of 0.6µL and provides a result in approximately 4 seconds.
- Stores at least 720 blood glucose results with date and time, with 7, 14, 30 and 90-day averages.
- Connects by Bluetooth to the mySugr app to transfer blood glucose readings to a paired mobile device.
How to Use
- Wash hands with warm soapy water and dry them thoroughly before testing.
- Check the use-by date on the Accu-Chek Instant test strip container. Remove a test strip and close the container cap tightly.
- Insert the metallic end of the test strip into the meter. When the flashing drop symbol appears, obtain a finger-prick blood sample using a lancing device.
- Touch the yellow edge of the test strip to the blood drop. Do not apply blood to the top of the strip.
- Remove your finger when the flashing hourglass symbol appears, then remove and discard the used test strip after the result is shown.
Caution & Storage
- Use only Accu-Chek Instant test strips. Incorrect test strip storage, handling or testing steps can lead to incorrect results and inappropriate therapy decisions.
- This system is not intended to diagnose diabetes mellitus or test neonatal cord blood samples. Venous, arterial and neonatal blood testing is for healthcare professional use only.
- Do not make therapy changes based on an individual stored result or an error message. Consult a healthcare professional before changing therapy.
- If a result does not match how you feel, repeat the test with a new test strip and consult a healthcare professional if needed.
- Keep new and used CR2032 batteries away from children. Seek medical attention immediately if a battery may have been swallowed or inserted into the body.
- Store the meter at temperatures from -25°C to 70°C. Keep it away from strong electromagnetic fields and do not use it in a very dry environment, especially where synthetic materials are present.
- Used meters may carry a risk of infection. Remove the batteries before disposal and discard the meter and batteries in line with applicable local requirements.
