3M Tegaderm I.V. 1635 Transparent Film Dressing — 85mm x 105mm (CVC)

Protect and monitor central venous catheter (CVC) and IV access sites with the sterile 3M Tegaderm I.V. 1635 transparent film dressing. This 85mm x 105mm dressing offers breathable, waterproof protection and a secure, hypoallergenic seal to help reduce contamination and maintain catheter stability while allowing continuous visual inspection.

Key benefits

  • Clear, transparent polyurethane film allows ongoing visual inspection of the insertion site and catheter without removal.
  • Semi-permeable, breathable film permits moisture vapor exchange while blocking liquids, bacteria and contaminants.
  • Gentle, medical-grade acrylic adhesive provides secure fixation and patient comfort—conforms to body contours.
  • Waterproof barrier protects the IV/CVC site during routine hygiene and showering.
  • Sterile, single-use dressing helps maintain a closed barrier for IV and central venous catheter sites.
  • Compact 85mm x 105mm size (product code 1635) ideal for central lines, PICC lines and other catheter sites.
Ingredients and Materials

Made from a thin, transparent polyurethane film with a medical-grade, hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive. The dressing includes a sterile release liner and is designed for single use. Materials: polyurethane film (semi-permeable), acrylic adhesive, sterile release liner. No added antiseptic (e.g., chlorhexidine) in this product.

How to Use
  1. Perform hand hygiene and prepare the IV/CVC insertion site according to facility protocol.
  2. Ensure the skin is clean and dry. Open sterile package and remove the dressing without touching the adhesive.
  3. Position the fenestrated/transparent window over the catheter hub and insertion site, then press the adhesive border firmly in place to create a smooth seal—avoid wrinkles.
  4. Secure edges and smooth adhesive to ensure full contact. Change dressing per facility policy or earlier if soiled, loosened or when clinical signs indicate. Typical wear time up to 7 days depending on clinical judgment and local guidelines.
  5. Discard after single use. Do not re-sterilize or re-use.
Who It’s For

Intended for healthcare professionals and clinical settings managing central venous catheters (CVC), PICC lines, peripheral IVs and other vascular access devices. Suitable for hospitals, infusion centres, outpatient clinics and home healthcare where sterile transparent film dressings are required for catheter securement and site monitoring.

Caution & Storage

Single sterile unit. Do not use if package is opened or damaged. For external use only. Avoid use on patients with known sensitivity to acrylic adhesives or polyurethane. Replace dressing immediately if it becomes loose, soiled or if clinical signs of infection (redness, swelling, increased pain, drainage) are present—seek clinical assessment. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme heat. Follow local infection control and disposal regulations for medical waste.
