Ingredients and Materials
The FreeStyle Libre 2 Reader is an electronic medical device made from high-quality ABS and polycarbonate plastics with an LCD display and internal rechargeable battery. The system is designed to pair with FreeStyle Libre 2 disposable sensors (sensor contains biocompatible adhesive and sensing filament). This product includes the Reader unit; sensors and applicators are sold separately.
How to Use
1. Apply a FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor to the back of the upper arm following the sensor instructions and applicator guidance. Allow the sensor to warm up as directed (commonly about 60 minutes).
2. Turn on the FreeStyle Libre 2 Reader and scan the sensor area with the Reader to obtain an immediate glucose reading, trend arrow and 8‑hour history. Scans can be done as often as needed.
3. Review logged data on the Reader or export reports for clinical review. Enable optional alarms in settings to receive high/low alerts (when using a sensor with alarm capability).
Note: Follow the included instructions for sensor application, Reader setup and troubleshooting. In certain situations (symptoms inconsistent with readings, rapidly changing glucose or when alarms occur), confirm results with a fingerstick blood glucose test as advised by your healthcare provider.
