How to Use
  1. Perform hand hygiene and prepare aseptic field.
  2. Select an appropriate vein and apply a tourniquet.
  3. Cleanse the skin and let antiseptic dry.
  4. With bevel up, insert the needle-catheter assembly into the vein until blood flashback is seen.
  5. Advance the catheter, withdraw the needle, and dispose of the needle in a sharps container.
  6. Secure the catheter with dressing, connect to IV tubing or cap, and flush with saline to confirm patency.
  7. Document insertion site, gauge, date/time and operator per facility protocol.
