Healthease IV Catheter 26G — Sterile Peripheral Cannula (Plain) — 1 Unit
Healthease 26G IV Catheter is a single sterile peripheral cannula designed for reliable intravenous access in neonates, pediatrics and patients with fragile or small veins. This plain, single-use 26 gauge catheter offers atraumatic insertion, stable peripheral IV access and compatibility with standard luer connections for fluids, medications and blood sampling.
Key benefits
- 26G ultra-fine gauge for delicate or hard-to-access veins (ideal for neonatal and pediatric IV access)
- Sterile, single-use design reduces cross-contamination and infection risk
- Plain (no wings) low-profile hub for discreet securement and tubing connection
- Smooth atraumatic tip for reduced vein trauma and improved patient comfort
- Compatible with standard IV tubing and luer lock fittings for easy integration into IV therapy
- Compact, color-coded hub for fast identification during clinical procedures
Ingredients and Materials
This Healthease 26G IV catheter is manufactured from medical-grade materials engineered for biocompatibility and safe peripheral intravenous use:
- Catheter: medical-grade polyurethane or PTFE (varies by production batch) for flexibility and durability
- Introducer needle: stainless steel, sharpened for atraumatic insertion
- Hub and syringe components: high-strength polycarbonate/ABS plastic with color-coded finish
- Lubrication: medical-grade silicone or hydrophilic coating to reduce insertion friction (where applicable)
- Packaging: sterile, single-unit blister or pouch — ethylene oxide (EO) sterilized and individually sealed
- Free from natural rubber latex (latex-free). Follow manufacturer label for exact material declarations.
How to Use
- For use by trained healthcare professionals only. Confirm patient ID and intended site of insertion.
- Perform hand hygiene and apply standard aseptic technique. Prep skin with appropriate antiseptic and allow to dry.
- Apply a tourniquet if required for vein visualization. Stabilize the vein and insert the catheter bevel-up at the correct angle.
- Advance until flashback is observed, then thread the catheter into the vein while withdrawing the introducer needle.
- Secure catheter with dressing/tape, connect to IV tubing or cap, and label according to facility policy.
- Monitor site for patency, infiltration, phlebitis or infection. Replace or remove per clinical guidelines and manufacturer recommendations.
Who It’s For
Designed for hospitals, clinics, emergency departments, neonatal and pediatric wards, phlebotomy and home health clinicians who require reliable peripheral IV access in patients with small or fragile veins. Suitable for:
- Pediatric and neonatal IV therapy
- Geriatric patients with fragile veins
- Short-term medication delivery, fluid therapy and blood sampling
- Clinical settings where a low-profile, plain catheter is preferred
Caution & Storage
Caution: Single sterile unit — do not re-sterilize or reuse. Inspect packaging before use; do not use if seal is broken or expired. Use only under appropriate clinical supervision. Monitor insertion site for signs of infection, phlebitis, infiltration, occlusion or allergic reaction. In the event of unexpected resistance, swelling or pain during insertion, stop the procedure and reassess.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep in original packaging until ready for use. Follow local clinical guidelines and manufacturer instructions for disposal of sharps and single-use devices.
