What  is Solal Super Colostrum used for:

Colostrum is the specialised milk produced by cows after giving birth. It has a high concentration of immune-supportive antibodies and growth factors, including glycoproteins, immunoglobulins (IgA, IgE, IgG, IgM), lactalbumin, serum albumin, IGF1 & IGF2, and lactoferrin. Colostrum supports the immune system by helping to kill bacteria and viruses. It also helps maintain healthy digestion. There is preliminary evidence that colostrum may also improve muscle growth, athletic performance and skin conditions (including wound healing).

Pharmacological Action:

Colostrum is the milky fluid produced by mammals during the first few days after birth. Colostrum contains glycoproteins, serum albumin, lactoalbumin, growth factors (e.g. IGF-1, IGF-2, TGF β and EGF, prolactin, insulin), lactoferrin, vitamins, minerals and immunoglobulins (IgA, IgE, IgG, IgM) in concentrations approximately 100 times higher than breast milk. It has been suggested that lactoferrin may activate the host defence system. Colostrum is also a major source of immunoglobulins that are delivered orally to support the immune system to kill bacteria and viruses. Colostrum might also be beneficial in improving peak anaerobic power and exercise performance. Colostrum contains growth factors, cytokines, hormones, and other biologically active components that might improve the growth and repair of the gastrointestinal system. Preliminary data indicate that colostrum reduces indomethacin-induced gastrointestinal injury by promoting small intestinal mucosa growth. Colostrum may also be beneficial in limiting autodestructive inflammation in systemic inflammation.

Side Effects:
Colostrum is generally well tolerated, with the following possible side effects: allergy, skin rashes, nausea, bloating, diarrhoea and vomiting.

Contraindications:
If you have a known allergy/hypersensitivity to dairy products (cow’s milk), do not use this product.

Interactions:
There are no interactions.

Safety during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding has not been established.

• Each capsule contains the following active ingredient:

• Colostrum - 500mg

• Inactive ingredients: Hypromellose vegetarian capsule shell, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, magnesium silicate, silicon dioxide and colloidal silicon dioxide.

  Contains plant extracts and natural fillers, with no colourants added – therefore the colour of the capsule contents may vary slightly from batch to batch.

  Contains sugar (lactose) average < 10%.
