Ingredients and Materials
The Burnshield Home Burn Kit contains sterile hydrogel-impregnated primary burn dressings and non-adherent wound contact layers, plus a conforming sterile bandage and easy-to-follow instructions. The hydrogel is a water-based, hypoallergenic formulation that provides cooling and moisture. Dressings are manufactured to sterile standards and are latex-free. How to Use
- Stop the burning process — remove the person from the source of heat and turn off any flames or hot elements.
- Cool the burn immediately with cool running water for at least 20 minutes (unless water is not available). Do not use ice.
- Carefully remove jewellery or tight clothing around the affected area, unless stuck to the skin.
- Open the sterile Burnshield dressing and apply the hydrogel dressing directly to the burn, ensuring it fully covers the area.
- Secure the dressing with the provided conforming bandage or appropriate tape, avoiding tight compression.
- Seek professional medical assessment for any moderate to severe burns, burns to the face/hands/genitals, deep burns or if the person is a child, elderly or has medical conditions.
