3M Tegaderm 1624W 60 x 70 mm Transparent Film Dressing

3M Tegaderm 1624W is a sterile, transparent film dressing (60 x 70 mm) designed for secure protection of IV sites, catheter sites and minor wounds. This breathable, waterproof film provides a clear barrier against contaminants while allowing continuous visualisation of the wound or insertion site. Ideal for clinical and home wound care, Tegaderm helps extend wear time and supports infection prevention with gentle, skin-friendly adhesion.

Key Benefits

  • Transparent polyurethane film allows easy visual inspection of wounds and IV sites without removal
  • Waterproof and bacterial barrier — protects against fluids and external contaminants
  • Breathable (moisture vapor permeable) to support wound healing and reduce maceration
  • Conformable, flexible film for comfortable wear on joints and contoured areas
  • Hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive minimises skin irritation and provides secure fixation
  • Sterile, individually packaged — 100 pack for cost-effective clinical and practice use
  • Ideal as primary dressing for low-exuding wounds and as IV/catheter site dressing
Ingredients and Materials

Inner film: Transparent polyurethane film (medical grade) that is impermeable to liquids and bacteria but permeable to moisture vapor. Adhesive: Hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive designed for gentle yet secure fixation on skin. Release liner: Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or similar coated paper/plastic release liner for sterile handling. Sterility: Sterile-packed for single use.

How to Use
  1. Clean and dry the skin around the wound or insertion site. Remove any oils, creams or moisture.
  2. Select the appropriate size (60 x 70 mm) and open the sterile package.
  3. Peel back the release liner and apply the clear film over the wound or catheter site, smoothing edges to ensure full contact with skin.
  4. Ensure the dressing seals fully to provide a waterproof barrier. Avoid stretching the film excessively during application.
  5. Inspect the site through the transparent film; replace dressing if edges lift, contamination occurs, or heavy exudate is present.
  6. Recommended wear time varies by clinical situation; monitor per local protocol — typically up to 7 days for IV site protection unless compromised earlier.
Who It9s For

Suitable for healthcare professionals, clinics, hospitals and home users. Ideal for patients needing IV or catheter site protection, light-exuding wound coverage, or a clear, waterproof dressing that supports visual monitoring. Not intended for heavy-exuding or deep wounds requiring absorptive dressings.

Caution & Storage

Cautions: For external use only. Do not use on deep, heavily exuding, third-degree burns or infected wounds without medical supervision. Check for adhesive sensitivities — discontinue if rash or irritation occurs. Remove carefully to avoid skin trauma; using adhesive remover can help with fragile skin.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep in original packaging until use. Do not use if package is damaged or seal is broken.
