What is Solal Chromium Polynicotinate used for:

Chromium is an essential trace mineral that promotes normal blood glucose levels and helps the body metabolise carbohydrates and fats. Chromium Polynicotinate is a superior form of chromium due to its safety, superior bioavailability and absorbability.

Pharmacological Action:

Chromium contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism and helps the body to metabolise carbohydrates and fats. It also contributes to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels.

How to use Solal Chromium Polynicotinate Capsules:

  • Adults over 18 years of age:
    Take 1 tablet twice daily with food.
Product Warnings:

Do not use this product if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients. If you are on any medication or suffering from any medical condition, it is advisable to seek medical advice before starting any new medicine, supplement or remedy. Do not exceed recommended dosages unless on the advice of a healthcare practitioner. Do not use continually for more than 3 months without consulting your healthcare practitioner. This medicine has not been evaluated by the Medicines Control Council. This medicine is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Health supplements are intended only to complement health or supplement the diet.

Side Effects:
No side effects have been reported.

Contraindications:
There are no known contraindications. Individuals suffering from liver disease should only use Chromium Polynicotinate under the supervision of a medical doctor.

Interactions:
Chromium has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity. Concomitant use of chromium and insulin might increase the risk of hypoglycaemia, hence dose adjustments of antidiabetic drugs may be necessary. Chromium may decrease levothyroxine absorption and it is advisable to take levothyroxine at least 30 minutes before or 3-4 hours after taking chromium.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
Safe for use during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding.

What do Solal Chromium Polynicotinate Capsules Contain:

Each tablet contains the following active ingredient:

  • Chromium polynicotinate (Supplying 24.8 µg of elemental chromium) - 200µg

  • Inactive ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate (vegetarian – flow agent) and silicon dioxide.

    Sugar-free.
    Suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
