1. Clean and, if needed, dress the wound before applying the bandage.
2. Start wrapping from the narrowest point away from the heart and work toward the body, applying even tension.
3. Overlap each turn by about half the bandage width to ensure consistent compression.
4. Secure the end with clips, tape or a fastener — do not use excessive tension.
5. Check circulation regularly (skin colour, temperature, sensation). Re-wrap if numbness, tingling or increased pain occurs.
