Ingredients and Materials

This Surgical Wound Top-Up Kit contains clinically selected materials commonly required for post-operative wound care, including:

  • Sterile non-woven gauze swabs (various sizes)
  • Sterile absorbent dressing pads
  • Adhesive sterile dressings (adhesive plasters/dressings)
  • Antiseptic swabs (single-dose wipes)
  • Hypoallergenic, medical-grade adhesive tape
  • Non-latex disposable gloves (pair)
  • Small sterile scissors or single-use dressing tools (where included)
  • Instruction leaflet and plastic storage pouch

Materials: sterile cotton/gauze, non-woven absorbent fibres, hypoallergenic adhesive, medical-grade plastics and packaging to maintain sterility until use.

How to Use
  1. Wash hands thoroughly or don gloves before handling the wound.
  2. Carefully remove the existing dressing and inspect the wound for heavy bleeding, increasing pain, swelling or discharge.
  3. Clean the surrounding skin using an antiseptic swab; do not use on deep or actively bleeding wounds without professional advice.
  4. Select an appropriately sized sterile dressing or gauze pad and apply directly over the wound.
  5. Secure with adhesive dressing or hypoallergenic tape ensuring the dressing is snug but not restrictive.
  6. Dispose of used items safely. Seek medical attention if signs of infection or wound deterioration occur.
