1. Ensure hands and the wound area are clean. Apply an appropriate sterile dressing to the wound.
2. Start the bandage below the injured area. Hold the bandage tension evenly and wrap with 50% overlap.
3. Smooth out wrinkles and avoid excessive tightness. For joints, use figure-of-eight technique for better retention.
4. Secure the end with clips, tape, or a suitable fastener. Check circulation (skin colour, temperature, sensation) after application.
5. Replace or reapply as instructed by a healthcare professional. Single patient use is recommended for infection control.
