What  is Solal Omega 3 Krill Oil used for:

Krill oil contains the best EPA and DHA forms of omega-3, bound to phospholipids improving bioavailability, absorption and effectiveness. Krill Oil provides superior support for heart, brain and joint health. Krill are tiny shrimp-like species found in the icy waters of the Antarctic. Eco Harvesting  methods are used to obtain krill,to ensure no unwanted by-catching of fish, sharks, seals or dolphins occurs.

Pharmacological Action:

Krill oil contains high levels of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) also known as long-chain omega-3 fatty acids which are essential for good health.

How to use Solal Omega 3 Krill Oil Capsules:

  • Adults:                                                                                                       

    Take 1 – 2 Licaps® twice daily for one month, dropping to a maintenance dose of 1 Licap® daily or twice daily thereafter.
  • Take after meals.
Product Warnings:

Do not exceed recommended dosages unless on the advice of a healthcare practitioner. Do not use this product if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients. Hypersensitivity/allergy has been known to occur with shellfish, if this occurs, discontinue use. If you are on any medication or suffering from any medical condition, it is advisable to seek medical advice before starting any new medicine, supplement or remedy. This medicine has not been evaluated by the Medicines Control Council. This medicine is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Health supplements are intended only to complement health or supplement the diet.

Side Effects:
Side effects may include pruritus, diarrhoea, flatulence, bloating and halitosis.

Contraindications:
Allergy or hypersensitivity to seafood and shellfish.

Interactions:
Warfarin or other anticoagulants: Krill oil may inhibit platelet aggregation. Individuals taking krill oil should only do so under the supervision of a medical practitioner.
Krill oil might have additive effects with antidiabetic drugs (may lower blood glucose levels) and increase the risk of hypoglycaemia.
Shellfish allergy: Individuals allergic to shellfish should use this product with caution.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:
Safety during pregnancy has not been established, consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use.

What do Solal Omega 3 Krill Oil Capsules Contain:

Each Licap® contains the following active ingredients:

  • Krill Oil yeilding - 500mg
  • Omega-3 fatty acids (of which EPA, eicosapentaenoic acid, 60 mg and DHA, docosahexaenoic acid, 27.5 mg) - 110mg
  • Marine phospholipids - 200mg
  • Astaxanthin (antioxidant) - 25μg

Inactive ingredients: Fish gelatine, glycerine and purified water.

  • Allergens: Shellfish
    Sugar-free.
